SENIOR MAGISTRATE
SALARY PACKAGE FROM C£83K UP TO C£1 02.5K P.A.
(DEPENDING ON QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE)

The Falkland Islands Government is seeking applications from suitably qualified persons with a sense of adventure and the confidence to fill the high profile role of Senior Magistrate on the Islands. This post offers a fantastic opportunity to work in a friendly community situated in the South Atlantic Ocean in a stunningly beautiful environment with easy access to unique wildlife.

The successful applicant will be a Barrister or Solicitor with a minimum of seven years' recent relevant experience working in general civil and criminal litigation in the UK, a Commonwealth country or a UK Overseas Territory. Previous judicial experience is also essential. Experience in family law and criminal law would be a distinct advantage.

The contract will be for a fixed term of two years and, in addition to the generous salary further enhanced by favourable tax rates, the remuneration package offers:
• A relocation grant
• Airfares, for the successful applicant and dependent family members, to and from the Falklands at the beginning and end of contract and for annual leave purposes
• Education allowances (if applicable)
Furnished family accommodation will also be available to rent.
