Salary: MB3 – £58,389 - £63,699

West Midlands Police/Staffordshire Police

This is a unique opportunity to assist in the design of a forward-thinking legal department. West Midlands and Staffordshire Police Forces are embracing change and collaborative working through the provision of Joint Legal Services. As the deputy head of the service, you’ll enjoy the chance to influence the way in which the service responds to change.

To be equal to the challenge, you’ll need drive, imagination and the ability to support the organisation through an exciting evolution. A qualified Solicitor or Barrister with an extensive track record, you will have proven experience of leading a legal team. Experience of leading in technical legal areas that may include complex litigation employment law or other matters of significant reputational risk would be desirable. Naturally, you’ll bring to the role expert knowledge and understanding of UK and European legislation, case law and codes of practice. Good knowledge and experience of policing and police operations is also essential.

Excellent influencing and negotiation skills will be crucial.

For further information please contact, Lisa-Marie Smith, Head of Legal Services, on 0121 626 8301.
