Contracts & Procurement Lawyer – two posts
Grade M11 – M9 (£29,528 - £39,351)
Ref: LGD0002
The council is expanding its team of contracts & procurement lawyers to support our Value for Money programme which demands an increasingly commercial approach to the award and management of high value contracts. Our lawyers are involved in every aspect of unitary authority work from social care and housing through to highways, education and public health.
These new posts will provide expert legal advice to the council’s full range of internal and public sector clients to enable them to meet challenging commercial and financial objectives within the law. Often working in partnership with the council’s Corporate Procurement team, this requires an ability to develop and maintain client relationships of the highest order.
Whilst both new lawyers will handle a full caseload of general contract and procurement matters, one has a particular focus on contract compliance and enforcement, for which experience in civil litigation would be helpful.
You will be joining a Lexcel accredited and dynamic legal team where full support is offered for career development through internal and external training.
Closing date: 14 September 2014.
