The mission of the NDA is the efficient and sustainable clean-up of the UK nuclear legacy, ensuring that we leave a safer environment for future generations. It’s unique, complex and fascinating work, with the chance to make an impact on the future of the entire country.

You will take on a demanding remit that will challenge your expertise and boost your experience. You’ll gain vast knowledge of the sector as you see projects from their earliest inception and through their lifecycle – giving you the chance to work with a variety of clients. Reporting to the Head of Legal, you will provide high quality legal advice to the NDA and its subsidiaries, sharing your time between between commercial and environment cases. The role will also see you instructing external legal advisers, interacting with stakeholders, negotiating on our behalf and drafting legal documents.

A qualified barrister or solicitor, you will have considerable post-qualification experience, including environmental law practice and the interface between environmental and planning law issues. A confident self-starter, able to multitask and undertake your own administration, you’ll bring good commercial awareness and a pragmatic, solutions-focused approach. Experience of nuclear law would be desirable. The confidence and credibility to influence to executive director level will be essential.
