The Charity Commission registers and regulates charities in England and Wales, to ensure that the public can support charities with confidence.

Now is an exciting time to join us as following a reorganisation we are looking for talented individuals to develop our new specialist approach.  You can help us with this by bringing consistently greater levels of legal expertise to our regulation of charities and ensuring legal cases are defended effectively and proportionately in the tribunal and courts.

You will be a qualified solicitor or barrister with strong analytical skills; case working skills; legal research skills; customer service and team-working skills; and be comfortable interpreting and advising on unfamiliar areas of law.

Ideally you will have experience of legal advisory work relating to charity and regulatory law and practice particularly from a Compliance perspective. 

You will be involved in: 

•    advising our Investigation, Monitoring and Enforcement function on complex legal issues arising from compliance work; and
•    conducting litigation – both defending the Commission’s decisions and bringing proactive litigation to recover charitable funds.
