Recruitment brief

Thrings is looking to recruit a Public Relations professional to help drive the delivery of its PR strategy, raise its profile in London and support PR activity in the South West, and generate new enquiries in line with the firm’s strategic marketing plan and overall business objectives.

Key responsibilities

  • Support the PR Manager in the identification and delivery of all corporate PR and communications activities in line with the firm’s overall objectives;
  • Coordinate the London office’s day-to-day PR activity and be the first and principal point of contact for all media enquiries;
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key staff (including Managing Partner, partners and fee earners) to elicit news stories and generate print, online and broadcast editorial opportunities with local, regional, national, trade and legal media in line with firm’s strategic objectives;
  • Research, prepare and issue press releases, feature and thought leadership articles on issues in line with the firm’s PR plan and as required; manage approvals and compliance process for all communications material and share coverage with relevant staff;
  • Monitor national news agenda and topical issues to secure commentary/interview opportunities for key staff in line with the firm’s PR plan and as required;
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key journalists, key stakeholders and relevant trade associations;
  • Work with PR Manager to develop and maintain a database of local, regional, national, trade and online media contacts to facilitate promotion of Thrings as an authoritative voice in its key specialist areas; 
  • Work with Marketing team to monitor use and maximise impact of social media (including LinkedIn and Twitter) across the firm;
  • Ensure Marketing team is regularly updated of activity across all digital and social media communications platforms; 
  • Work with Director of Marketing and PR Manager to devise and deliver advertorial / sponsorship activity to compliment PR and marketing campaigns; write advertorials as necessary and measure ROI;
  • Work with the Marketing Assistant to support promotion and delivery of Thrings events;
  • Work with Marketing team to identify/update objectives and solutions for internal comms and support their implementation;
  • Ongoing work with Marketing team to review, refresh and update content on the firm’s intranet and website pages;
  • Produce weekly and monthly reports for Managing Partner, Director of Marketing and PR Manager.
