Overview of Role:
The Equality and Human Rights Commission is looking to recruit a Deputy Director to take accountability of the Corporate Law portfolio to include the provision of in-house specialist technical expertise, legal advice and support to the Commission, around all aspects of; grant giving, contracts, procurement and single tender actions, governance, employee relations and employment law, contentious and otherwise, pensions and expenses, IT and facilities, complaints, freedom of information, data protection and correspondence generally, devolution issues affecting the Wales and Scotland Directorates and any other appropriate issues.
What we are looking for:
An experienced leader with a proven ability to work successfully at a senior level, the successful candidate will have a strong drive, determination and personal resilience to ensure the delivery of their area of accountability. They will be a qualified solicitor or barrister entitled to practice in England and Wales and have relevant post qualification experience with a proven track record of successful delivery of high quality advice on law and practice relating to employment / employee relations, general litigation, personal conduct of legal disputes and actions and negotiating successful settlements.
