Job Details
Exeter’s in house Legal team enables and supports the Council to deliver on its Growth Agenda . The City’s solicitors provide clear, consistent and accurate legal advice to our clients and undertake advocacy on behalf of the Council. An opportunity has arisen for a qualified solicitor to join our team.
We need an experienced commercial property and planning solicitor to deal with Estate management work including commercial conveyancing, freehold and leasehold sales, licences, assignments, building agreements, joint venture agreements, S106 agreements, planning challenges, enforcement matters, general advisory work and local government law.
You will be expected to manage a caseload of routine and non-routine legal matters with the minimum of supervision. Provide sound guidance to officers and have the ability to deal with planning inquiries, appeals and judicial reviews.

We are looking for a qualified solicitor or barrister with extensive knowledge of planning and public sector law with over 5 years post qualification experience. Excellent drafting and negotiation skills are a necessity. Experience of CPOs would be desirable.
