Bhatt Murphy is seeking a solicitor to specialise in actions against the police and claims arising from immigration detention.  This is a permanent position for which the successful candidate will need to demonstrate relevant experience in bringing cases against the police, experience or interest in immigration detention, and a strong commitment to publicly funded work. 

Bhatt Murphy is a niche practice offering specialist advice and representation to those who seek to hold the state to account, with a particular focus upon the agencies of the criminal justice system, such as the police, CPS and prison service, and Home Office detaining authorities.  We litigate against a wide range of defendants, including government departments or agencies, local authorities and other professionals.
