Chairs of the Investigations Committee and the Regulatory Panel for the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy

CIPFA is seeking two senior solicitors or barristers, one to chair the
Institute’s Investigations Committee and one to chair the Institute’s
Regulatory Panel under CIPFA’s Disciplinary Scheme.
The Chairs of the Investigations Committee and the Regulatory Panel must
have:

  • Solid experience of chairing professional regulatory tribunals/meetings.
  • Good knowledge of regulatory law, evidence and procedure.
  • Integrity.
  • The ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • The ability to understand and analyse complex issues, identify and comprehend relevant facts and follow evidence and arguments and distinguish between the important and the trivial.
  • Sound judgment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment and reliability.

Successful applicants are required to complete a training programme
of one day’s duration. The Chairs are paid a daily rate of £500 plus travel
and subsistence expenses incurred on committee/panel business.
Appointments will normally be for a period of 3-5 years.

Time commitment is expected to be no more than 7 days a year.
