You will join a team in the Directorate of Legal, Risk and Compliance which provides contractual and legal support to academic staff and colleagues within the University. You should be a qualified solicitor and have experience of commercial property law and an awareness of construction law as well as experience in drafting and negotiating contracts. You will need to communicate confidently across the University, and will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. You will be advising on a variety of property and construction cases including leases, licences, development agreements and other real estate transactions and providing legal advice on the operation and management of the University’s estate. Although support will be provided as required, it is anticipated that you will be able to lead cases allocated to you as well as being willing to support other team members as requested on larger matters. You should be able to prioritise work and achieve deadlines and be prepared to support the provision of other legal services which are not confined solely to the fields of work mentioned above. You will be articulate, commercially aware and have a keen eye for detail. You should also have the ability to manage a varied workload.
