The University is seeking to appoint a Commercial Solicitor with particular experience in Intellectual Property Law within a research environment to work within its Governance and Legal Services Department based at its City Centre campus.

You will need to be a qualified solicitor who is PQE 3-5 years qualified and be familiar with and have experience of negotiating and drafting research and intellectual property related contracts.
You will be able to work on your own initiative, produce high quality work to tight deadlines to all colleagues across the University and work with colleagues in the Legal Services team and the Governance and Legal Services Department on a range of projects.

The role involves frequent interaction with senior staff within and outside the University, which requires excellent interpersonal skills, tact, diplomacy and a very high standard of written and oral communication.

Successful applicants will usually be appointed to the base of the advertised salary grade, except in justifiable circumstances.
