Temple Legal Protection Limited, a market leading Legal Expenses Insurance (LEI) company, is seeking an experienced Senior Underwriter to join their expanding Commercial After the Event (ATE) LEI team.

It is essential that candidates have considerable experience of underwriting commercial ATE LEI and, ideally, worked previously in a similar role. It is preferred that you will have a legal qualification, such as a law degree/conversion/CILEX. 

You will focus on managing delegated authority schemes, underwriting new risks and auditing the performance of schemes. You will be required to master and implement underwriting guidelines and to demonstrate a detailed understanding of risk exposure and appetite in respect of Commercial ATE. Whilst predominantly office based, the role will also require visiting our customers on a regular basis. A high level of customer service is demanded at all times to clients, intermediaries and third parties.

You will be a strong team player, working efficiently to meet agreed objectives, and have a good eye for detail. You must be able to deal effectively with enquiries, and operate well within the parameters of stipulated procedures and authority limits. 

It is important that you have excellent interpersonal skills both on the telephone and face to face, with a working knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook and using Management Information Systems. You will be required to undertake training in line with agreed objectives and keep up-to-date with technical, legal and market developments via the use of e-learning, internal training and reading market related material.
