MKS is an innovative shared service model that has already delivered considerable savings for its members, while delivering high quality services that include HR, ICT, Planning Support, Revenues & Benefits, Legal and Audit Services. We now have two opportunities that offer the chance to take on a leadership role across different organisations – but also to consider how we can expand and grow the service in the future.

You’ll lead a large legal team (29 staff), offering the full range of legal support and advice across the partnership. It’s an incredibly diverse portfolio of work, and it’s important that you can adapt and tailor your approach and your resources to different settings and cases, ensuring a consistently high quality service. This is a service that is already performing well, and you’ll inherit a strong team with a solid appreciation of our clients’ needs. We’ll look to you to build on success to date and continue to build on the team’s capacity and potential. Legally qualified and with outstanding leadership experience, you must have the ability to form and sustain high-level relationships with clients, members and senior officers. The successful applicant would also be expected to discharge the functions of the Monitoring Officer for one or more of the authorities.
