An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Commercial Solicitor to join the Legal Services Team. You will play a vital role as part of a strong and progressive team in an exciting forward thinking environment. The Legal Team are responsible for a wide range of agreements relating to projects with International, UK and EU partners both from industry, commerce and the higher education sector. Your role will be essential in contributing to the protection of the assets of the university including its intellectual property and its reputation as a highly regarded university.
You will work with minimal supervision in a supportive environment building strong working relations with academics and business development partners. You will take a leading role in the cementing of strong links with particular faculties in the university gaining specialist knowledge of that area.
You will be a solicitor or legal executive with relevant experience gained in the HE sector or in a similar or related role or have significant vocational and relevant experience. You will need to have a strong grasp of intellectual property and contractual legal issues and the legal issues affecting universities which you can utilise to provide high quality and timely legal advice and support.
