The Law Society’s Conveyancing Quality Scheme (CQS) provides a recognised quality standard for residential conveyancing practices across England and Wales. Since inception in 2011, CQS has created a trusted community which continually seeks to improve standards across the residential conveyancing sector. The scheme is now seeking additional committee members to sit on the CQS Technical Panel.

The CQS Technical Panel’s function is to provide advice and guidance to the Law Society’s staff in respect of CQS, which includes:

  •  The development of the technical aspects of the scheme’s standards, requirements, strategies, products and services
  •  Ensuring the scheme maintains relevance for members
  •  Identification of new or existing issues, potential solutions and opportunities for the scheme
  • Assist with responses to key stakeholders
  • Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate:

  • An in-depth knowledge and understanding of the conveyancing process within England and Wales
  • An ability to make objective, impartial decisions
  • An aptitude to understand and analyse reasoned arguments concerning often complex facts
  • Experience of working within an CQS accredited practice at a senior level (such as SRO or Head of Department)

The successful candidate(s) will be expected to attend committee meetings in Chancery Lane approximately once every three months. This is an unpaid position but reasonable expenses will be paid in relation to attendance.
