RICS is a self-regulatory professional body with significant global reach and influence. It promotes and enforces the highest professional qualifications and standards in the development and management of land, real estate, construction and infrastructure.  Responsible under its Royal Charter for the regulation of 120,000 chartered surveyors across the globe, it is committed to the achievement of consistently high professional standards in order to provide confidence in all markets.  It enforces standards of ethics and competence in the profession through a combination of best practice, monitoring, complaints handling and disciplinary proceedings.

Reporting to the Director Regulatory & Corporate Affairs, an exceptional individual is now required to shape and fulfil the new role of Regulatory Counsel.  This is more than just an advisory role.  As well as providing sound legal strategy advice, expertise and leadership on enforcement and regulatory governance matters to stakeholders throughout the global organisation, the appointee will also be required to initiate and lead on strategic projects, pro-actively identifying and responding to regulatory risk and developing legal policy areas in support of all regulatory activity.

This role calls for an experienced solicitor or barrister whose exceptional credentials and expertise has been gained in a regulatory body, the broader public sector or private practice.  Regardless of background, you will be a credible strategist, influencer and trusted advisor with an exceptional grasp of regulatory law and policy and the intellect, confidence and communication skills to provide timely advice to a diverse stakeholder group as required.

A creative and lateral thinker with an international outlook, you will relish the opportunity to define solutions in response to complex challenges across a diverse geographical landscape and will enjoy providing influential and inspiring leadership to a range of teams and international legal partners to deliver best value from investment whilst providing exceptional support to the organisation.
