It is a young, ambitious University that contributes to economic growth through strong industrial partnerships. It has embarked on the delivery of a new strategic plan which will see it strengthen its offerings for students, providing an outstanding and professionally-focussed learning experience, and working towards achieving research degree awarding powers at the end of the decade.

The continued successful evolution of the University depends on all of the people who work here. The Legal Services Advisor is an exciting and new role to the University that will play a key part in providing in house legal expertise and advice and will contribute to managing the University’s legal responsibilities including compliance and statutory requirements.  Working in partnership with the Academic Schools and Professional Services areas to provide high quality legal advice and guidance is essential.

We are looking for a candidate who has a minimum of 2 years’ practical experience as a qualified solicitor with proven experience in providing advice and guidance on themes such as;

  • Contract negotiation and preparation for the provision/sale of goods, services and research to third parties (including international) to ensure that the University is protected commercially and intellectually.

The ideal candidate will have a successful track record in the delivery of a customer focused and professional legal support service that is flexible to the needs of a diverse range of customers. If you are a self-starter and have well-developed interpersonal and team working skills, a high level of attention to detail and would like the opportunity to make a positive contribution to the University, then this could be the role for you.
