Purpose of the role

Responsible for overseeing, coordinating and supporting firm-wide marketing and business development activities

Key Responsibilities

  • Provides strategic firm-wide guidance to support the identification and pursuit of new BD opportunities
  • Assists management teams with implementing departmental BD plans, including identifying and contacting new prospective client leads where appropriate
  • Actively supports firm-wide BD activities, including collating information required for tenders and client presentations, tracking new client opportunities/leads and monitoring new client developments
  • Develop a growth strategy focused both on financial gain and customer satisfaction
  • Conduct research to identify new markets and customer needs
  • Arrange business meetings with prospective clients
  • Promote the company’s products/services addressing or predicting clients’ objectives
  • Prepare sales contracts ensuring adherence to law-established rules and guidelines
  • Keep records of sales, revenue, invoices etc.
  • Provide trustworthy feedback and after-sales support
  • Build long-term relationships with new and existing customers
  • Develop entry level staff into valuable salespeople.

Person Specification

  • Proven working experience as a business development manager, sales executive or a relevant role
  • At least three years of experience of working within marketing and business development roles, ideally with some experience within the legal sector.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and CRM software (e.g. Proclaim)
  • Proficiency in English, Urdu and Punjabi.
  • Communication and negotiation skills
  • Strategic marketing planning
  • B2B marketing experience
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Understands and manages colleague and client expectations
  • Acts as a role model for effective team working
  • Passes information to other managers where appropriate
  • Is organised with own work and promotes good working practices
  • Takes time to effectively manage and support development of others

Required education:

  • Post Graduation from a Higher Education Institute / or equivalent qualification.
