In-house Aviation Solicitor

Douglas Scott have recently partnered with a leading business in the tourism and travel industry on the appointment of a Senior In-house Counsel to their already established and successful In-house team. The role would be perfect for a Solicitor of around 10-12 years PQE, with substantial experience in Aviation, who is also comfortable leading a team and collaborating with businesses and colleagues across the globe. Salary is dependent on individual experience.

The business is going through a time of significant growth and change, and as such it’s a very exciting time to join them in this newly created position. The successful Senior In-house Counsel will work with two more junior colleagues on two major business divisions across a large geographical area. The role will involve drafting and negotiating a wide range of aviation specific commercial contracts whilst also managing a major internal project; reviewing and drafting contracts governing aircraft charter, ground handling, goods & services, aviation fuel and bunker oil contracts etc.

Due to the nature and seniority of the role, we’re looking for a Solicitor with significant experience in Aviation who is comfortable in handling a variety of commercial contracts (specifically aviation purchasing) and advising on procurement. Those with In-house experience in the travel & tourism and aviation industries are particularly encouraged to apply, however those from Private Practice with relevant experience could also be a good fit.
