A key legal role with Arqiva, global leader in communications infrastructure

Commercial Property Solicitor – Media & Telecoms

As our Commercial Property Solicitor, you key responsibility will be to support the management of our national portfolio of electronic communications services sites whilst providing advice on property law issues. Reporting to our National Property Manager, you’ll undertake a wide range of contentious and non-contentious property legal matters, conducting your own caseload of legal transactional work in-house, liaising closely with surveyors where required. In addition to advising on the interpretation of occupational agreements and title issues, other key accountabilities include:

  • avoiding litigation on contentious legal issues wherever possible by providing commercial solutions
  • managing external legal providers
  • advising and supporting on property legal matters in relation to new projects
  • supporting the estate in planning for and implementing strategy, in the light of legislative reforms due in 2017.

With a Law degree in England and Wales at least at 2:2 or higher, or equivalent qualification, together with a Legal Practice Course commendation or higher, you must have a proven track record in commercial property, with a preference for Landlord & Tenant work. Ideally with experience of working in an in-house legal team and of electronic communications law, you’re able to build good relationships whilst working well under pressure and adhering to high standards of professional conduct. Your excellent ‘plain English’ drafting complement your ability to communicate complex concepts with clarity, whether in writing or verbally, and to instruct and manage external lawyers. Your additional assets include:

  • strengths in organising and prioritising
  • an unflappable personality when under pressure
  • a positive, can-do attitude
  • strong MS Office skills.

At Arqiva, our vision is to be central to every vital connection in a world which depends on a continuous stream of information. Always. At the forefront of communications infrastructure and media services, we’re the people who make connections happen in the digital world. Our values are about being ingenious, straightforward and collaborative, clearly and simply, to enable us to go that extra mile for our customers.
