Greater Manchester Police is one of the UK's largest police forces and is responsible for keeping people safe across more than 1,200 sq. km. The Force covers the Manchester, Salford, Bolton, Bury, Oldham, Rochdale, Stockport, Tameside, Trafford and Wigan areas.

GMP’s officers and staff work 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to keep almost three million people safe. The Force has 11 geographical policing areas known as Divisions that ensure it provides the best possible service to people who live, work and visit Greater Manchester.

An opportunity has arisen for a committed and enthusiastic individual who wishes to train in a busy and challenging environment within the Legal Services team at Greater Manchester Police Force.

You will assist in the provision of comprehensive legal services to the Chief Constable. You will be a highly motivated, flexible, hardworking team player with the capability to work under pressure to produce work to the required standard of accuracy and timescales.

You will be on a two-year full-time fixed contract. Your training will be diverse, challenging and will cover a range of practice areas including civil litigation, employment law, inquests, Judicial Review and advocacy within the Magistrates Court. You will have successfully completed the Legal Practice Course and have good IT and presentation skills.

Successful candidates will be required to undergo security vetting and training.
