Civil Litigation Solicitor / FCILEx

Our Central Bristol client is seeking a technically able and commercially aware Solicitor to join their Specialist Group, part of the Civil Litigation Division. The group handles Claimant and Defendant matters across the full range of (non PI, non RTA) work types including commercial, professional negligence, insurance coverage, contract, employment (non tribunal) & financial services. There are a variety of worksources including LEI, private instructions and liability insurers. The work is challenging but rewarding and the team places a high value on mutual support and co-operation.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Ultimately reporting to the partner in charge of the Specialist Group, you will be involved in some of the claim types detailed above (the successful candidate’s skills and experience may determine which of the Group’s specialist teams he or she may be placed). The role will involve personal management (with supervisory support) of your own caseload of up to 40 varied and complex cases. It may also involve assisting senior lawyers on larger cases.

Skills/Competencies and Experience required:

• Intellectual curiosity, commerciality and practicality;

• Ability to deal flexibly with a wide range of work types, worksources and clients;

• Confidence to take responsibility for cases, relationships and strategy (with supervisor & Group support);

• Excellent communication skills;

• Some civil/commercial litigation experience;

• Capable of working with a case management system.
