DBS is a non-departmental public body sponsored by the Home Office. We provide information to employers and other organisations in England and Wales (and barring information only in Northern Ireland) so they can make informed recruitment and licensing decisions. We also bar people from working in regulated activity as part of our commitment to safeguarding vulnerable adults and children.

The post holder will be required to support the Head of Legal Services and Business Support Unit to provide accurate and timely professional legal advice and support to the DBS, enabling delivery of DBS services. This will include representing DBS in courts or tribunals; conducting litigation and providing training of current legal provisions to colleagues.
 
You will be a Solicitor/Barrister with at least 5 years’ PQE, enrolled with the SRA or called to the Bar, with demonstrable knowledge of and experience advising on legislation relevant to the DBS.
