Professional Conduct

Milton Keynes based (but attending hearings in London) Circa £60,000 dependent on experience, plus pension scheme  and private medical insurance. One permanent position and one 12 month fixed-term contract available.

ICAEW is a world leader of the accountancy and finance profession.

The Professional Conduct Department (‘PCD’) plays an important regulatory role in the licensing and monitoring of the work of ICAEW members and in helping to maintain the reputation of the profession. PCD comprises a  multi-disciplinary team of accountants and lawyers who assess, investigate and present cases to the Regulatory Committees, the Investigation Committee and the Disciplinary Tribunal.

We are looking to recruit an experienced legal advisor into PCD to provide practical and constructive legal advice to our investigation teams at the start, and during, investigations and to present the more serious cases which are heard by the Disciplinary Tribunal and to respond to appeals made to the Appeal Committee.

Our ideal candidate will:

  • a qualified lawyer with a background in either vivil or criminal litigation or experience working for a professional regulatory body;
  • have significant advocacy experince;
  • experienced in managing a large number of cases; and
  •  be a good team player with the ability to build relationships across PCD and ICAEW.
