Property Solicitor

Long established law firm with a highly regarded reputation in Harrogate requires a property solicitor to join their team of experienced Solicitors who are well thought of in the North Yorkshire market.

The Role

- Excellent opportunity to join a team of property lawyers and handle a mixed caseload of residential conveyancing, agricultural law and commercial property matters. The work is of excellent quality and some of the clients have been with the firm in excess of 40 years.
- The firm is succession planning with the intention that the successful candidate will get up to speed with a number of clients and take them over within the next 12 months. There will also be the opportunity to assist others in the team on larger transactions.
- Clients include local farmers, property investors and high net worth individuals.
- Whilst business development is not essential for the role, someone who enjoys this and in particular who has contacts and connections in the North York market would be very attractive to this firm. Someone commanding a high salary would need to demonstrate a following of clients or certainly some strong contacts in the market from which work is highly likely to materialise.

The Candidate

- The firm is small in size therefore personality is extremely important to them. Someone who is friendly, upbeat and extremely organised would fit in very well.
- The firm is open minded in terms of PQE, but suspects someone with at least 4 years experience would suit the role given the nature and complexity of the work. Of course this has only been given as a guide and applications from candidates with less or more experience will be considered.
- Agricultural experience is essential for the role, however, our client will still consider candidates whose agricultural experience is perhaps not as advanced as their residential or commercial property experience.
