Job Details
Junior Planning Lawyer required to join a local authority based in London for an initial 3 month period. It is anticipated that the role will continue onto a rolling contract.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a popular local authority. The office is easy to reach, situated in a location which is easily accessible by London Underground or Overground.
The successful candidate will be managing a busy caseload of Planning matters. Alongside this, day to day duties will include;
- Drafting legal documents, including agreements, deeds, notices, orders, consents, and byelaws relevant to the work of the council
- Preparation of cases before courts and tribunals
- Responding to legal questions from a wide range of clients
- Advising and attending committees and sub-committees, members and chief officers
The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic Junior Planning Lawyer, who is able to hit the ground running in this busy role.
It is essential that the successful candidate has experience of managing a planning caseload. Our client is happy to hear from Planning Lawyers with either a public sector or private practice background, providing that a thorough practical understanding of local government law is held.
