Salary: Circa £43,298 to £62,726 plus £3,406 location allowance
Location: London SW1

As a Lawyer at the MPS, you’ll define ‘making a difference’

At the Metropolitan Police Service, you’ll get to view the justice system from a unique angle – working on a variety of cases that range from the small to those that will create history.

Working alongside more than 40 lawyers, you’ll advise on everything from high profile investigations, civil actions (malfeasance) and public law, to personal injury claims, employment law, discrimination, community policing matters and Proceeds of Crime.

And because of the nature of our work, we need you to be up and running straight away so you’ll need appropriate legal qualifications and experience in one or more of the above areas.  You’ll also need to have qualified as a solicitor or barrister in England and Wales and have completed a training contract or pupillage (or have been exempted from this by the Law Society or Bar Council).  As important however is your ability to relate to people on all levels and the fact that you are a willing team player, flexible and completely unfazed by pressure.

To apply, please visit our website to download a role specific information pack and application form

Completed applications must be returned by 13 April 2017.

Please note we are only able to review the first 50 applications received.

We view diversity as fundamental to our success. To tackle today’s complex policing challenges; we need a workforce made up from all of London’s communities. Applications from across the community are therefore essential.
