Education Solicitor - Re-Train Opportunity

An award winning international full service law firm wishes to appoint an Education Solicitor to join the practices' formidable Education Team and be based at the firms' modern offices in the heart of Birmingham city centre.

The firm has a solid reputation in the global energy, infrastructure, financial services and advanced manufacturing and technology sectors and is a truly global operation meaning that it is well-placed to advise on complex multi-jurisdictional matters across a full range of legal disciplines and it is proud to have achieved a significant number of tier 1 rankings in the Legal 500 in recent times.

You will have anything from 2 to 8 years' PQE and will emanate from an education, charity, corporate or commercial background where you will have been exposed to a broad remit of matters comprising advising on governance, constitutional, regulatory and commercial matters, although not necessarily from within the education sector.

You will join a team that specialises in advising on the reform of constitutional documents, dealing with corporate governance and advising new providers of higher education on a plethora of matters to include advising on commercial projects, joint ventures and education collaboration agreements such as teaching partnerships. The client base is wide and will include higher educational institutions, independent schools and academies.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who is looking to move into a new sector that is both challenging and rewarding, especially as the firm is open to those without any experience of working in the education sector as significant training and development to make the transition will be provided to those who already have a solid background in a corporate, commercial or regulatory sector.

This is a rare opportunity to join a global leader and be exposed to the very best national and international education work on the market and you will work alongside some of the most prominent and experienced lawyers in the sector meaning that any experience gained with this firm will only open more doors in the future.

A competitive salary and benefits package is naturally on offer given the firms standing in the market but what sets this role apart from others is the abundance of progression and development opportunities on offer, especially as you will be actively encouraged to take advantage of the firms' transparent talent development path to progress with the firm. You will also benefit from a good deal of client exposure, especially when you undertake training seminars and presentations at clients' offices.

QED
An acronym of the latin phrase quod erat demonstrandum which translates as "thus it is demonstrated" or "that which was to be demonstrated". It is most often used as an annotation at the end of a complex mathematical, scientific or philosophical argument to show that the author had proven what he had set out to prove. In recent times it has also been translated as "Quite Easily Done".

As a recruiter you have to network and speak to large amounts of people and lots of law firms to really understand the market and have the connections to match people with opportunity quickly when the time arises. A good recruiter needs to be Quick, Excellent and Dynamic in everything that they do. Allow the team at QED to demonstrate what they can do for your firm or your career.
