Principal Lawyer- Community Services Law Team (Child Care)

Salary up to £49,881 - £55,257 (dependent upon experience)

Located in Huntingdon

LGSS Law Ltd is an innovative social enterprise law firm providing legal services to the public and not for profit sector. We have grown significantly in recent years and in addition to our head office in Huntingdon, we have branch offices, in Northamptonshire, Bedfordshire (Shefford) and Cambridge. We pride ourselves on giving high quality, comprehensive and affordable advice to our many clients, who include local authorities, health bodies, charities, schools and housing associations across the region.

We are seeking to recruit a Principal Lawyer to join our Community Services Law Team (Child Care).

You will lead and manage a team of child care Lawyers and Paralegals, manage relationships with key clients and hold a child care caseload and provide additional case work support to help meet client demands and service needs. You will provide a pro-active legal service to clients on their duties towards children and young people. The role offers a wide variety of work, ranging from supporting child care lawyers in conducting care proceedings, adoption and pre-proceedings PLO cases to judicial review applications and human rights law. You will be liaising with a range of professionals, including expert witnesses, social workers, schools, court staff and other lawyers. Child Social Care is going through a period of considerable change as it is becoming increasingly intensive.  Working for a range of clients within this area gives you greater exposure to complex and interesting cases.  This in turn will enable you to develop your experience within this sector at a quicker pace.  You will also be involved, as part of the team, to assist with the development of policies and strategies to enable us to deliver a more effective service to deal with the large volume of challenges that our clients are currently facing within this sector.   We are looking for enthusiastic individuals with initiative, a proactive approach to problem solving and a real commitment to the job.

In return we offer an exceptional opportunity to develop your career at the forefront of innovation in legal services delivery. We provide a flexible, modern working environment equipped with the technology needed to enable you to balance the pressures of a busy role. If the chance to play a part in this fast-paced but increasingly interesting area of law grabs you, we want to hear from you.
