Private Client Solicitor/Legal Executive (Probate)

A well-established legal services firm in Suffolk is looking for a Private Client Lawyer to join their Probate Department. The firm is committed to providing good quality advice and has high standards of client care. Over the years the firm has advised thousands of clients across the country in relation to estate planning. Today they operate a multi-disciplinary practice that brings the skills of Solicitors, Legal Executives, Chartered Tax Advisors and Chartered Financial Planners together to provide a holistic range of traditional and specialist estate and tax planning solutions to their clients, resulting in a substantial existing client base which continues to grow.

The Role

The position is offered on a full-time permanent basis and will be suitable for applications from both qualified Solicitors and Legal Executives.

We are looking for candidates with suitable experience in dealing with probate but also with a grounding in Wills, Trusts, IHT and other related private client matters. The work consists of a varied caseload of estate administration but some experience in administering trusts would be preferable. STEP membership or looking to work towards would be beneficial, however the successful candidate will benefit from our in-house Training Academy, providing a structured platform for obtaining STEP qualifications to further their career.

The Ideal Candidate

You must have the desire to grow your career within Private Client and be committed to a personal journey of training and development to achieve role specific legal qualifications whilst helping and supporting other staff. The ideal candidate will have:-

  • At least 2 years PQE 
  • Proven experience in Probate and Trust Administration and Accounts
  • Excellent literacy and numeracy skills.
  • A high degree of attention to detail.
  • A spirit of co-operation and a positive ‘can-do’ attitude.
  • The ability to work unsupervised and under pressure.
  • The ability to work as a team player.
  • A professional telephone manner.
  • Good IT skills (Microsoft outlook, excel, word)
