Malvern Hills District Council is a small, progressive local authority, situated in one of the country's most attractive areas, offering excellent opportunities to grow and develop along with competitive benefits.

We are continually looking for ways to improve and develop our services, and we currently have a number of shared service arrangements with other district councils in the Worcestershire area. The Legal Services team currently provide legal advice and support to Malvern Hills District Council and Wychavon District Council in Pershore.

Senior Legal Executive - £28,485 - £31,601

Due to internal changes, we now have a vacancy for a Senior Legal Executive based mainly in Pershore, working for both Malvern Hills District Council and Wychavon District Council.

We are looking for an individual who can demonstrate that they are highly motivated, confident and able to hit the ground running.

As Senior Legal Executive, you must have good energy and enthusiasm with a real desire to work within the small but busy in-house shared Legal Service team and to deal with a wide range of work.

This is a new post in our joint team and we are looking for a knowledgeable individual with a range of experience of dealing with land and property matters ideally within local government. Some experience of planning matters would also be desirable.

You must be educated to degree level and be either a qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive – however we will accept applications from those who can demonstrate they have equivalent experience.

This is a full time post and is based mainly in Pershore, however you will be expected to work in Malvern when necessary.

Key Requirements:

  • Educated to Degree Level
  • Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive or able to demonstrate equivalent experience
  • Flexible and self motivated
  • Good working knowledge of the main statutes relating to property law
  • Ability to travel to both Pershore and Malvern offices and occasionally to meetings outside of the district
