Corporate Tax Solicitor - Non-Corporate Environment

A pre-eminent, top tier full service national law firm wishes to appoint an experienced Tax Solicitor to join its envied Tax Department and be based at the firms' modern office in the heart of Birmingham.

The firm is quite rightly particularly proud of its envied culture which actively promotes a transparent and collaborative ethos throughout the entire organisation. The firm is very much a meritocracy and does not operate a traditional pyramid structure, preferring to maintain the flat hierarchical system that has brought it unparalleled success so far where any attitudes of self-importance are most certainly frowned upon, which is no doubt why the firm is the recipient of a number of awards including being ranked as one of the best law firms to work for.

The firms' Tax Team provides tailored advice across a wide range of tax issues including Employee Share Schemes, Relief for Shares, Share Sales, Property Transactions (advising on SDLT, VAT and Capital Allowances, General Corporate Tax and VAT and General Employment Tax Issues. The team acts for both private, and public companies of varying size, their directors and shareholders and often these clients are household name commercial entities. A good deal of the work regularly involves cross-departmental collaboration, sometimes with an international bias.

You will be a solicitor with a minimum of 2 years' PQE although the firm is happy to consider applications from tax solicitors with up to 7 years' PQE. You will be tasked handling you own matters as well as forming part of a specialist team when acting on high level challenging projects. You will be commercially astute and be able to build relationships with clients and be able to convey your tactics and advice in plain language.

The firm is offering a very competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package which includes 25 days' holiday with the option to buy more days, private health care, life assurance and an abundance of corporate discounts. There will also be opportunities for progression, exposure to top quality technically challenging matters and there will also be chances to get involved in client seminars and business development and there is a significant amount of face to face client time which often comprises off site visits.

This is an outstanding opportunity for those with complex tax experience who want to move to a firm that promotes an environment with no office politics or bureaucracy and where each team member is trusted to utilise their experience and work with little supervision.
