Health and Safety Regulatory Solicitor

Health and Safety Regulatory Solicitor sought for our client, a top flight global law firm, operating from the Manchester office. 

Working as part of the wider Litigation team you will join at associate or senior associate level (depending on PQE) to assist a Legal 500 ranked leading lawyer with health and safety matters from a defence and compliance perspective.  With a highly impressive client base you will work with corporate clients across a wide remit including health and safety (HSE), the Police and other regulatory bodies such as the Environment Agency and Local Authority. The role of a health and safety regulatory solicitor is extremely varied and interesting and stretches across sectors including healthcare, retail, construction and manufacturing.

You will possess a strong criminal defence background with the ability to both advise and defend corporate clients at the highest level on not only regulatory investigations and prosecutions but also corporate governance and advisory work. The work includes emergency action following serious incidents, police interviews under caution, advocacy at inquests and advising on enforcement notices.

You will either be a health and safety regulatory solicitor or a criminal regulatory solicitor with a good knowledge of health and safety legislation including enforcement, and a national or strong regional firm background. You must be able to demonstrate an ability to work with corporate clients across the full remit of regulatory work and have good technical knowledge on criminal evidence and procedure.
