Job Details

As a Legal Trainee at the London Fire Brigade, you could use your skills to become part of an organisation that helps to keep Londoners safe, every single day.

Working within our in-house legal department at this very exciting time in the Brigade’s future, you’ll train with a range of lawyers and assist with caseloads in an organisation dedicated to improving fire safety and saving lives. Your work will be determined by the needs of the department and will be flexible to the requirements of your training programme, but you are likely to gain exposure to criminal and civil litigation, employment law, contracts, public procurement and property law matters – developing a broad range of cross-functional skills, without being confined to a specialism.

By training in this full-time fixed term post, you’ll become eligible to qualify as a Solicitor, or a Legal Executive.  Please see the Job Description on the London Fire Brigade website for further details of the qualifying criteria.

We are seeking people who can evidence a strong track record of academic ability, but more than that we are looking for people who:

  • show leadership and take responsibility
  • think for themselves and take ownership of difficult problems
  • look for solutions and apply their knowledge
  • show drive and discipline
  • develop positive professional relationships

As well as enjoying an excellent work/life balance and a real variety of training, you’ll gain satisfaction knowing the true benefits of the work you do for London.

Assessment date:  18th and 19th May 2017 (in our Hammersmith Assessment Centre)

Please note that if you are unable to attend the scheduled assessment dates we will not be able to make alternative arrangements.
