THE ROLE

Our IPT practice encompasses nearly 500 dedicated lawyers in more than 24 countries, with particular strength in key global markets. IPT law is at the core of any major business transaction or strategic dispute and has become one of the most critical legal areas as companies continue to expand and protect their technologies, brands, products, data and services around the globe.


The PSL role activities include, working on specific projects/initiatives, producing precedents, know how guidance, manuals for internal use and being responsible for external facing know how products for the purposes of profile raising / engagement with clients. The PSL team is responsible for preparing and delivering technical training. PSL roles in the IPT group also have a strong emphasis on marketing and client development.


The successful candidate could be based in any of the UK offices (although Leeds or Birmingham is preferred). Regular travel within the UK will be expected to engage effectively with the Group as a whole, with the possibility of occasional international travel. Previous experience as a PSL is not a requirement. The role is offered on a full time basis.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


The Group are now looking for an additional PSL at the 4+ pqe level or equivalent, gained at a firm(s) noted for its IPT expertise. The successful candidate must understand positive client service and appreciate the importance of meeting client needs.


Candidates will have excellent black letter law academic credentials, broad in depth practical experience of commercial / transactional work and strong interpersonal people skills with the ability to engage effectively with a large and diverse internal client base.

SKILLS AND KEY ATTRIBUTES


Technical

  • At least 4 years' pqe or equivalent in a comparable firm, with wide-ranging commercial / transactional experience
  • Experience in one of more of: outsourcing, data protection and general commercial work required. An interest in the use of technology and automation in the delivery of legal services would be desirable
    Behavioural
  • The successful candidate will need to possess excellent technical skills and attention to detail, alongside developed team work and project management abilities
  • They seek an individual who is pro-active, innovative and committed to building and developing relationships
  • Must be client service orientated
