Your new company
A global engineering group with core structural, construction and civil expertise, world class projects and a geographical concentration in the UK, Australia, Middle East and South East Asia. The company has coverage across multiple sectors, and has a great reputation as engineers for complex structural projects, including heritage listed developments, high rises, government buildings and relevant structures within the energy and infrastructure sectors.

Your new role
A newly created In-House Counsel position, the first qualified role in the UK. The role reports into the Group General Counsel in Australia, and it will manage one Paralegal. You will draft, negotiate and review professional services, joint venture, consultancy, sub-consultancy and other general commercial agreements, on both national and international levels. You will also work with the business in supporting project tenders, share acquisitions & disposals, debt recovery and dispute resolution processes. You will build relationships with stakeholders across the builders, supporting on projects and helping drive the long term strategy of the business.

What you'll need to succeed
You will be a commercially orientated lawyer with at least 5 years' PQE, able to step into what would be a reasonably autonomous role, managing stakeholders at all levels. You will have strong technical contract skills, gravitas at the negotiating table and in-house legal experience. You will have the personality to build rapport across the business, while also having the authority and credibility to push back to the business when necessary. The company is open minded regarding industry sector experience, but will require a UK qualified lawyer with excellent communication and leadership skills.

What you'll get in return
You will receive a highly competitive package, the chance to manage and involvement in prestigious projects across the UK and Europe, within the global legal function of a well-respected engineering major.
