Job Details

My client, a leading American law firm with global reach, is looking to recruit an experienced Practice Development/Support Manager to support its M&A practice group. This will be a varied and fulfilling role, with the opportunity to help shape the M&A practice, and the expectation that the successful candidate will form a real partnership with the practice's personnel, to develop skills, training and market knowledge within that team.

The right candidate for the Practice Development Lawyer role will have:

- 5-8 years PQE.

- Relevant, recent experience in M&A. This firm has a wide scope of M&A work, which covers both private and public assignments. Ideally, you will have exposure to both, although private is preferable.

- This role would suit a candidate who is not currently a Practice Support/Development Lawyer, but is keen to move away from transactional work. Alternatively, candidates currently in a similar position would also be suitable.

Our client is a leading international law firm, headquartered in the USA with branches worldwide. Its particular areas of expertise include M&A, Corporate and PE, amongst others.

The Practice Development function is relatively young, and was launched to provide support and co-ordination to the firm's knowledge management team, which includes paralegals, attorneys, research and library and records functions

The main responsibilities and functions of the Practice Development Lawyer role are to partner with the M&A team to develop skills, impart training sessions, provide current, relevant market updates as well as conducting targeted, incicisive market research. The right candidate for The Practice Development Lawyer role will be proactive, gregarious and highly adept at building internal relationships. There will also be an element of business development involved in the Practice Devfelopment Lawyer role role, but from a supportive, rather than proactive perspective.

There will be three other Practice Development Lawyers in the London office.

The firm will consider applicants who would prefer to work 4 days a week.
