Leigh Day is recruiting two Newly Qualified Solicitors to assist two Partners within our Consumer Law and Product Safety Department. These are exciting and challenging roles assisting Partners who are pre-eminent in their field. The roles will be assisting partners across clinical trials, defective products and product safety. The caseload will be varied multi party, claims arising from life threatening injuries and brain damage sustained during clinical trials and defective medical devices and / or pharmaceuticals, electrical products,  and other complex product liability and group claims.

Leigh Day has a large and growing team dedicated to product liability, or defective products, and is ranked as the No. 1 firm in this field by the Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners legal directories. It is one of the largest product liability teams in the country, known for its capacity to cover a diverse range of claims. It has taken a leading role in a series of high-profile cases in contention of late on behalf of claimants. It offers particular strength in matters relating to medical devices, pharmaceutical, household goods and consumer cases. Work highlights include acting for more than 700 clients who have undergone early revision surgery following the failure of metal on metal hip components, and representing the families of six individuals who were killed by house fires or carbon monoxide poisoning allegedly caused by recalled products. This position will ideally suit newly qualified lawyers.  Demonstrable relevant experience would be an asset but is not essential.  In order to be successful, candidates must possess excellent analytical skills and have a genuine interest in working with Claimants in this area of law.
