Commercial Insurance Solicitor

Our client is a large international practice, with an enviable commercial insurance team who wish to appoint a junior commercial solicitor into the team in Manchester. This specialist team deals with a good variety of commercial insurance work for a top flight client base of corporate insured's, insurers and insurance brokers.

You will advise on complex, high value commercial insurance matters, giving you direct exposure to those clients. Working closely with a top ranking Legal 500 partner, you will provide advice on all aspects of insurance policies including drafting insurance distribution agreements, negotiating policy wordings, advising on transactional insurance policies and policy coverage issues.  As you will be involved in drafting and negotiating on complex policy wording you will have strong drafting and negotiating skills. You will gain specialist experience in the insurance sector including advising on the FSMA and FCA Handbook.

At around 1-5 years’ PQE you will have trained at a strong regional or national practice, although not necessarily in commercial insurance. Applications are encouraged from commercial solicitors from both a contentious or non-contentious background who are interested in a career re-focus. You may have already gained experience in an insurance or financial services arena but most importantly you will have a strong commercial focus and a good academic profile with at least a 2:1 at degree level.
