Legal Team Manager
Full time post 35 hours per week
Salary £35,000-£40,000 pa

IPSEA is a registered national charity giving free and independent legally based information, advice and support to make sure that children and young people with all kinds of special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) get the right education.

IPSEA is small, but influential, with a large reputation, and is poised on the brink of becoming much bigger. The Board of Trustees has committed to increasing by 50% the number of people helped by IPSEA over the next three years and increasing volunteer retention to 80% in the same period.

IPSEA provides a unique range of specialist services. These services include two helplines run by volunteers and an email information service. IPSEA has also developed a wide range of high quality specialist training packages and products for which we are renowned.  We create bespoke training packages as well as selling e-learning training modules to individuals and both voluntary and statutory organisations. 

IPSEA is at the forefront on policy issues relating to special education and is involved in responding to policy developments and advising policy makers at all levels of government. Our practical every day experience of advising and supporting parents allows us to speak from a position of expertise and experience and to provide crucial evidence of needs and challenges. IPSEA has committed to ensuring that no legislation, policy or guidance on SEND will come from government without our expert input.

At this time of growth and change IPSEA needs a Legal Team Manager to lead our Legal Team, supporting our volunteers and taking charge of delivering IPSEA’s highly regarded legal training to parents, professionals and volunteers. Previous experience managing and leading a team is essential. A team player and excellent people manager, you should have outstanding communication and organisational skills. Knowledge of SEN law is highly desirable but is not essential to this role.
