Salary: £39,442 - £44,245 (Grade H) per annum + Cash Alternative Car Allowance
Hours: 37 per week
Shepway District Council, based in Folkestone, Kent, serves a population of 108,000 and covers a district of 140 square miles. The M20 offers easy access to London and the high speed rail service offers travel times to the capital of under an hour.
We are currently looking for a Solicitor to provide professional legal services mainly (but not exclusively) on property and planning related matters to the Council and its officers. This post involves acting largely on the own initiative of the post holder, whilst still working as part of the legal services team in a proactive, positive and collaborative manner.
The post holder will have recent and relevant experience in both Planning and Property Law and may from time to time need to advise on litigation and contract law. You will be a qualified Solicitor or Barrister and will ideally have recent experience in both areas, gained within a Local Authority. Excellent analytical skills the ability to retain information is essential. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven and enthusiastic individual with excellent and well-rounded experience in a Solicitor position.
