We are seeking applicants to join our team which provides in-house legal and commercial contracts advice to academic and research staff within the University of Nottingham.  The team supports the delivery of an extensive research portfolio at a worldwide top 1% University (£155 million research income generated in 2015/2016).  This is a senior role within the team which involves managing the needs of a particular Faculty and providing supervision and support to junior team members. 

We are seeking applicants with significant experience of working in a commercial contracts team.  A valid practising certificate would be highly advantageous.  Excellent organisational and planning skills with strong communication and attention to detail are essential. 

The role will involve working with public, private and third sector organisations to negotiate agreements such as contract research agreements, services agreements, research collaboration agreements and clinical trial agreements.  Detailed knowledge and experience of commercial and contract law are essential.  Knowledge of intellectual property law, charity law and public sector law would all be beneficial.
