Job Details
A different kind of employment law role has become available with a firm in East Yorkshire. The firm is growing at an impressive yet sensible pace. They do a lot of work for insurers, brokers and financial institutions. They are looking for ideally a solicitor with at least 2-6 years employment law experience.
The Role
Giving telephone/email advice to companies as a result of an insurance policy they have in place
The advice can range from anything from interpreting maternity provisions to talking them through a redundancy process - it's really broad ranging
As the firm grows there may be the option to almost act as a consultant to some of these clients and actually go into the business and e.g. conduct the redundancy process
The role would suit someone looking to move away from a conventional fee earner role, into more of a consultative role where you operate more like an in-house lawyer
Whilst this firm is relatively small at the moment it has plans to become a national player which it is firmly on track for
Excellent quality work, some of which is on a par with the big firms in Yorkshire.
The Candidate
- At least 2 years solid employment law experience is required for the role, together with strong commercial acumen
- The team is incredibly supportive and friendly and need someone who has this approach

There is also a conventional employment law team and there may be scope to move into this team in time and actually handle the claims if this is desired.
