Newly Qualified Solicitor – Human Rights Department,
Ref: NQ/HR/MV/July17
We are currently seeking to appoint a Newly Qualified Solicitor within our Human Rights department. This role will specialise in supporting the rights of children, vulnerable adults and patients.
The caseload will include claims for compensation and challenging the decisions of public authorities. The role will assist a partner who is an expert in inquests and Article 2 claims; judicial reviews in healthcare and social care and Court of Protection cases. A considerable amount of the caseload is funded by Legal Aid so knowledge of LAA funding will be highly desirable.
This role is ideally suitable for NQ candidates, however, those with up to 2 years of relevant post qualification experience will be considered. To be successful you must be passionate and have a solid understanding about human rights law and providing access to for justice to all. You must have demonstrable knowledge in conduct of cases from initial advice through to trial; experience in calculating losses and in dealing sensitively with clients and experts. You must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, a keen eye for detail and effective time and organisation skills to work with multiple deadlines.
