Who are we?

The University of Law (ULaw) is the world’s largest law school. With an impressive history going back to 1876, it employs c650 staff and attracts over 7000 students to study on its undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. ULaw has an outstanding reputation as a full service legal and educational training specialist, operating from nine centres throughout England with additional global reach through online and face to face provision.

Our employability statistics are enviably high (97% of our 2014 and 2015 full time LPC students secured employment within 9 months of graduation) which is reflected in ULaw’s reputation for producing lawyers and barristers with genuine business and commercial acumen. We also deliver an LLB which has received outstandingly strong reviews in the National Student Survey.

What are we looking for?

Due to significant student growth we are looking to recruit additional tutors; qualified solicitors or barristers with a genuine passion for quality and excellence, who can demonstrate successful practice experience.  You will enjoy being challenged (by students and course content in equal measure) and be able to adapt to the different learning styles of students and methods of course delivery.  You will be eager to share your expertise and become involved in all aspects of enhancing the student experience within our centres.

We are looking for people with experience in one or more of property, litigation, company, and criminal law to work within our existing team of tutors, primarily on our LPC, GDL and LLB programmes.

We offer an excellent range of competitive benefits including 35 days annual leave, private medical scheme, pension scheme, life assurance, training and qualifications, travel loans and childcare vouchers. Please note that classes are also delivered over weekends and evenings and tutors are expected to work flexibly within these parameters.

Please visit our website www.law.ac.uk/vacancies for a full job description, person specification and application form. CVs will not be accepted.

If you would like to arrange an informal discussion prior to application, please email Laura McGarry, Academic Manager (laura.mcgarry@law.ac.uk)
