About the role
The Firm are now seeking a dispute resolution specialist role spanning all contentious aspects of commercial litigation, employment law, and some civil litigation (the Firm does not do personal injury work or Legal Aid). Some non-contentious employment work will also be involved.
Typical work will involve unfair dismissal, breach of contract, sale of goods, contentious probate and shareholder disputes. You will have an immediate caseload of a diverse range of mainly county court and employment tribunal work. You will take primary responsibility for those. You will also assist with more complex matters under supervision. The role also requires you handling the firm's internal debt collection matters.
It is expected that the split between commercial litigation and employment will be roughly equal although at times there may be more work of one kind than the other.
You will have previous experience of a broad range of commercial litigation work (some experience of construction and insolvency work an advantage) and general employment work.
- 4-7 years PQE
- Commercially minded
- Confident, professional and friendly with the ability to build good working relationships internally and externally
- Good or better advocacy skills and a willingness to improve these if needed
- Able to demonstrate empathy and understanding of client needs
