The Role
We are now seeking a tenacious Civil Litigation Lawyer to join our clients’ thriving practice in Essex. Becoming part of a specialist team, the successful Lawyer will handle a full and varied caseload to include: professional negligence; contentious probate; landlord and tenant issues; neighbour disputes; consumer matters; employment and; contractual disputes. A good working knowledge of the CPR and the ability to discuss funding options in addition to handling all aspects of actions from instruction to trial, settlement and enforcement are essential for the position. The ideal Lawyer will also participate in business development activities.

The Candidate
To be considered for this role you must:
Be a qualified Solicitor, Legal Executive or fee-earning Paralegal with at least three years’ PQE gained within a well-regarded Civil Litigation department;
Have excellent technical skills with a broad range of expertise;
Be fully aware of the funding options available to clients;
Have strong interpersonal, negotiation and advocacy skills;
Have the ability to supervise and mentor junior fee earners and support staff;
Be IT literate and ideally self-supporting;
Have access to transport, in order to attend clients at other offices when necessary;
Be client-focused yet commercially aware and driven.
