About the Role

We are recruiting for a Commercial Property Lawyer to join our growing legal team, based at our head office in Ringwood; an exciting opportunity to be part of a growing and dynamic organisation.

Reporting into our General Counsel you will provide legal advice and support to the internal regional land teams, group planning, senior managers and executives in connection with land acquisition and development.

This role will be vital as we continue to grow and look to bring some of the land purchase and planning agreement legal work in-house. Working closely with the relevant land, technical and planning teams to acquire land and secure planning permission to develop our award winning retirement apartments.

As well as assisting the teams with the creation and agreement of planning obligations including s.106 ands. 278 Agreements, we also want you to be responsible for landing the legal purchase of the land including the appropriate searches and site due diligence and help develop and maintain the template contracts required for the land acquisition process.

This is predominantly a office based role but some travel to attend meetings and sites externally will be expected.

The hours of work are Monday to Thursday, 9am – 5.30pm and Fridays, 9am – 5pm.

About you

We are seeking an individual with a solid and proven commercial property legal background with proven experience of working on a variety of contracts for the purchase of land for commercial development.

You’ll be well versed in the creation and agreement of planning obligations including s.106 and s.278 Agreements and have the ability to liaise with external stakeholders at every stage of the transaction.

You’ll enjoy negotiating and working towards deadlines and budgets. Having a proactive approach teamed with excellent communication and organisation skills are vital for this position.

You will have proven experience working as a Commercial Property Lawyer and hold relevant industry qualifications.  Ideally we would like you have in house experience but we would also welcome applications from those with drive, commercial acumen and with a strong commitment to quality and service delivery.
