Reputable commercial law firm in Leeds requires a Healthcare Solicitor to join their specialised healthcare team.

The department act for MDO’s (Medical Defence Organisations), NHS Trusts, public and private healthcare providers, medical insurers and medical charities. They provide support on all healthcare issues from NHS regulation, policy and governance, procurement and contracts, professional conduct and disciplinary hearings to patient capacity and inquests. The role will cover both regulatory and claims work and there is scope to be trained up in due course into any aspects of claims and regulatory work that the candidate is unfamiliar with. The role will be largely office based but could involve travel to undertake regulatory work.

This is a full time role for a Solicitor, ideally between NQ and 2 years’ PQE.

You will need:

  • Some prior experience in healthcare regulatory work or complex, high value civil medical negligence claims, ideally from the defendant perspective.
  • Good academics.
  • To be organised and systematic, self-motivated and content to be managed remotely, flexible, and able to work in different ways with different partners.
